Gated helps you block distracting apps and earn them back with real-world challenges. We built Gated to keep your data on your device. This policy explains what Gated accesses, why, and what leaves your phone — which, in almost every case, is nothing.
Gated does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your sleep data, motion data, camera input, and the list of apps you block never leave your device and are never sent to us or any third party.
Screen Time & app selections. Gated uses Apple's Family Controls (Screen Time) framework to block and unblock the apps you choose. Apple does not reveal the identities of the apps you select to Gated — your selections are stored privately on your device by the system and are never transmitted to us.
Health (sleep) data. If you enable sleep-tuned scheduling, Gated reads your sleep analysis data from Apple Health to estimate your wake and bedtimes. This data is read on-device only, used to set your block schedule, and is never stored on our servers or shared with anyone.
Motion data. The Wake-Up challenge uses your device's motion sensors to confirm you've physically gotten out of bed. Motion data is processed live on your device and is not recorded or transmitted.
Camera. The Vision challenge uses your camera so you can point it at a target color or object to unlock your apps. Image processing happens entirely on-device in real time. Gated does not save photos or video, and no camera data leaves your device.
Gated Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment information. Apple may share aggregate, anonymized purchase and subscription analytics with us through App Store Connect; this does not identify you individually. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings.
Gated does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not maintain accounts, and we do not collect names, email addresses, contacts, or location data.
Because Gated does not collect your personal data, there is nothing for us to sell or share. We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Gated is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
